About us

Omaha Legal Professionals Association (OLPA) is one of four local chapters of the Nebraska Legal Professionals Association (NLPA). Membership is open to anyone engaged in or interested in work of a legal nature as well as students studying the legal field.

Join a local chapter in your area and become a member of this bi-level association. You may also join as a member-at-large if a local chapter is not established in your area. Each chapter also has student memberships available.

Please direct membership inquiries to the respective Vice President of the local chapters, to the NLPA Vice President, or each chapter’s website.

Most of our membership is comprised of legal assistants, legal secretaries and paralegals. However, individualized employed in the following areas can also benefit from being an OLPA member.

Mission Statement 

TO establish good fellowship among the members of this association and all persons employed in and/or interested in work of a legal nature so that ideas may be exchanged and knowledge increased.

TO establish a high order of business and professional attainment and to further our knowledge of the law and uphold its honor and dignity.

TO create a high standard of ethics among its members.

AWARD OF ACCOMPLISHMENT:

Legal Professional of the Year

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:

State Annual Scholarship presented to 
students  studying in law-related subject. Each 
local chapter has its own scholarship requirements. Local chapters participate in various Law Day events.

COMMUNITY SERVICE:

Members of local chapters participate in 
various community service projects.

CONTINUING EDUCATION:

Continuing legal and/or general education 
credits obtained by attending NLPA’s seminars, or local chapters’ seminars and monthly meetings with speakers.

FUNDRAISING PROJECTS:

Each chapter holds its own fundraisers to 
earn money to cover its local scholarship.

NETWORKING:

Expand your professional contacts statewide.
